The old parish church of Santa Maria del Taulat, built in 1878, was destroyed at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War. In 1945, work began on a new temple, designed by the architect Marià Romaní (1900-1966), and it was completed in 1950.

The annex to the Palau Sant Jordi, the Sant Jordi Club is a smaller space that hosts well-known music acts that visit Barcelona. Around 30 concerts are held here each year.
