The Casa dels Entremesos is a center for the dissemination of popular culture in Barcelona and Catalunya.
This cultural facility collects, disseminates and promotes popular culture in multiple aspects: festive imagery, dance, music, fire, human constructions, trabucaires and popular art. In addition, this space also hosts exhibitions, talks, debates, workshops, book and music presentations... but, without a doubt, what stands out the most is the permanent exhibition of festive Barcelona imagery. There are around fifty figures made up of gegants (giants), capgrossos (big heads) and beasts. Barcelona's dragon figure—the Drac de Ciutat Vella—features prominently in many festivities, including fire entourages, as a bonfire beast, and in the popular Seguici of Barcelona. It has its own dance, with percussion sounds and touches of reed instruments.
La Casa dels Entremesos is part of the network developed by the Barcelona City Council called Casas de la Fiesta, a network that brings together all spaces of popular and traditional culture.
