The British School of Barcelona was founded in 1958, and currently has two campuses in the region; in Sitges and Castelldefels. It delivers the British curriculum to children aged 3-11 years, and is recognised and accredited by the British and Spanish government.
The schools aim to provide children with a comprehensive education, focusing on many different aspects of learning in addition to academic. They also aim to improve a child's quality of life through enhancing their social skills, encouraging group work and shared values for children to develop friends while at school and continue making new ones in the future. Teachers and members of staff also promote support for children and their families, and hope to foster the child's natural love for learning throughout their educational journey.
The values of the school also extend to ensuring children are prepared for the globalised world, with a modern curriculum to prepare them for life after school, and cultural sensitivity to live in an increasingly globalised society. As a multilingual school, The British School of Barcelona celebrates diversity and internationality.
