Close by to the university on Gran Via this calm coworking space has lots of different areas so you can move around to suit your mood. Besides the meeting rooms and coworking area there’s a kitchen area and a zone where you can relax. This is a typical Eixample apartment and is light and airy with original tiles, and a real home-from-home vibe.

Betahaus
Carrer de Vilafranca 7, 08024 BarcelonaThis is the largest coworking in the city and occupies a six-storey converted warehouse with over 150 members. This place is all about community and describes itself as ‘a happy family living in an amazing house’. Besides the working spaces, there are two workshops to accommodate creators and makers, lots of rustic sofas, studio space for photographers, silent zones, two terraces and a panoramic rooftop view of Barcelona for when you need a little perspective.There’s also an in-house café for snacks and drinks to keep you going. It’s open 24/7 so it’s great for inspired nightowls.

Blitz Gràcia
Blitz Gràcia is a calm and peaceful place to work with an industrial but welcoming vibe and lots of natural light. The work stations (square tables that are big enough to happily share) are in one big high-ceilinged studio. There are also two terraces, a kitchen and a meeting room. Blitz is an animal-friendly place and you may spot the odd dog lounging around in the corners. It’s on the fourth floor of a building that has a wealth of other creative studios, dance schools and yoga centres.

MOB (Makers of Barcelona)
Carrer de Bailén, 11, 08010 BarcelonaMOB (Makers of Barcelona) is located in a converted factory space in the Eixample. Seventy percent of the community is international and they are welcoming from the moment you walk in. Bright and light with a decidedly creative air, even if you’re not a member, you can still visit their cafe with 3D printers at the entrance. There’s a big variety of people working here and collaboration between coworkers is encouraged. ‘MOB days’ take place once a month where people get a chance to catch up and meet new ‘MOBBERS’. There’s also ‘surprise sandwich day’ where everyone brings in a different filling and eats lunch together.

Apocapoc BCN
Hidden away in a quiet corner of the Born is this family-run sustainable wonderland. Everything inside is designed from upcycled materials, and there’s a welcoming mix of international workers. Not only is this eco-friendly work place easy on the eyes, there are two terraces full of homegrown fruit, vegetables and nut trees. Once a month, the in-house chef uses the produce to prepare a delicious organic feast for all the coworkers.

Born Espai de Creació
This coworking basement space is in the heart of the Born has big aesthetic appeal with earthy tones and bare brick walls. Besides the cosy work space, there is also a meeting room that can be hired. About 30 coworkers use the space and include a real mix of internationals and locals, small companies and individual freelancers. Collaboration and sharing work is encouraged amongst the members.

Crec
Crec in Poble Sec is a light and spacious converted warehouse with over 90 coworkers. Anyone is welcome in this space which caters to a variety of industries and professions. Besides the working spaces and meeting room there’s also a therapy room and photographic studio that can be hired. There’s also lots going on, with regular courses, from pilates to belly dancing and design, and monthly activities for the coworkers and their friends and families.

Valkiria Hub Space
Valkiria Hub Space is a 1,500 square-metre space in Poble Nou with a fresh and spacious vibe, authentic wooden furniture and cool décor. There’s lots to discover here, from the bistrot to the small auditorium, chill-out zone and the Kor Space, a sort of hanging cube where performances and events are held. At the heart of Valkiria’s ethos is the encouraging of collaborative and interdisciplinary projects between the freelancers and there are plenty of activities going on.

Garden
Just as its name implies this place is filled with exuberant plants that add to the calm, alternative and very friendly environment. Besides the large coworking studio there’s a small studio with DIY tools and a terrace for recharging the batteries. They offer lots of eco-friendly courses and events.

Pipoca
Pipoca is a coworking space that feels more like a home right in the centre of the Gótic. Taking up the whole of a principal floor, it offers a dynamic working environment with a few quirks, such as the ping pong table, the popcorn maker and hammocks where you can mull over your corporate strategy. There are different rooms to suit your needs, including a quiet space and a meeting room.

Doctor Trueta 113, 08005 BarcelonaPangea is one of the larger coworking spaces in Barcelona, and is home to about 40 freelancers. Just a stone’s throw from the beaches of Poblenou, it’s spacious, modern, light and friendly. Besides the large coworking room there’s a kitchen area, dining room, meeting room, chill-out space and a huge terrace. Pangea encourages collaboration and friendships between the coworkers and is organised to enhance this.
