Wings Are Not for Sale: A Journey into the Labyrinth of Fast Fashion, Paolo Campana, (2021, Italy)

Fashion students, sociologists, activists and industry workers reflect on what lurks behind the gleaming (and easy-click) windows of fast fashion.

During the terrifying and bewildering first months of the pandemic, some people found solace by compulsively buying cheap clothes online. Although the social outcry is increasingly difficult to silence, not much is still known about the darker side of the industry: the ruthless rhythms of production, the enormous environmental footprint and the mistreatment of workers. A group of students undertake an artistic project of denunciation, at the same time that we get the opinion of experts, workers in the textile sector and human rights activists.

Film will be screened in original version subtitled in Catalan.
