There are few covers as literal as the cover of In the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, the fifth album by Weyes Blood.
On it, Natalie Mering appears with a posture of angelic reverie, her chest illuminated with a supernatural glow. This is the symbolic image that drives and christens the second chapter of a tale of emotional turmoil that began with Titanic Rising (2019): the belief that it is in the lowest moments that the heart shines brightest.
From this arises a commotion of compositions that the Californian artist sees as a collection of secular hymns, sung in a voice that sounds like the one of someone who contemplates the horizon so that we don't have to.
