Truman & Tennessee: An Intimate Conversation, Lisa Immordino Vreeland (2020, USA)
Truman Capote and Tenesse Williams, friends and rivals. A passionate tête à tête between two giants of literature. Archive footage and writers' confessions performed by the voices of Jim Parsons and Zachary Quinto reveal the obsessions, doubts and addictions of two literary icons with parallel lives. What is the price of fame? And the secret of creativity?
Capote's and Williams' television appearances on the David Frost and Dick Cavett shows show the writers' honesty in revealing their less-than-kind side. The parallel montage allows the creation of a dialogue between the two authors, doubling space-time, and reveals their psychological tensions. Director Lisa Immordino Vreeland, granddaughter of the legendary Diana Vreeland, constructs a fresh portrait that recreates the fascinating relationship between Capote and Williams through her own writing.
Film will be screened in original version with Spanish subtitles.
