The arrival of Christmas is synonymous with the pessebre (nativity scene) in Catalunya. Making the nativity scene has a long historical tradition: numerous nativity scene associations, including the Barcelona Nativity Scene Association, contribute, year after year, to the continuity and preservation of this cultural and festive tradition.
The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Pedralbes organizes its nativity scene in the area of the Procures, with the collaboration of the Barcelona Nativity Scene Association. The nativity scene can be visited from Saturday, December 14, when the museum will also hold an open day to commemorate the exhibition, which will be open until February 2, 2025.
This year's exhibition focuses on the presentation of two dioramas of the life of Jesus, The Nativity and The Adoration of the Three Kings, illustrated with figures by sculptor Montserrat Ribes and the Castells brothers.
