Time Still Turns the Pages, Nick Cheuk (Hong Kong, 2023)

Time Still Turns the Pages, tells the story of Cheng, a high school teacher who must cope with the death of his father and the divorce of his wife. Life takes an unexpected turn when he finds an anonymous suicide note in the classroom where he teaches. This reminds him of a childhood in which he witnessed his father’s constant abuse of his mother and brother. Determined to act, Cheng strives to prevent another tragedy. In fact, he believes that Hong Kong’s education system should balance competitiveness and the emotional well-being of students to achieve all-round human development.

Film will be screened in Cantonese with Spanish and Catalan subtitles.
