Irish quintet The Murder Capital come from the post-punk scene influenced by Joy Division, The Cure, Wire and Interpol, with a live show that is a geyser of fury and theatricality that puts them on a par with more current proposals like Savages, Shame, IDLES, black midi and their compatriots Fontaines D.C.

And what distinguishes them? Well, clearly, James McGovern, their singer. An old-fashioned frontman who takes to the stage (or jumps from it) in the full knowledge that performing live should always be synonymous with show time.

In their debut album When I Have Fears and again with Gigi's Recovery their sharp rock expands in all directions.
