For his 6th feature film, the unclassifiable filmmaker Tim Sutton (Funny Face, Americana 2021) takes on the western genre. After learning through a prophecy that he will be murdered by one of his offspring, a gruff outlaw decides to off his own kin.

Written by newcomer Greg Johnson, the film nonetheless inherits Sutton’s impeccable and ethereal visual style, as well as its key theme:  the latent violence that lurks within toxic masculinity.

Supported by great performances from Worthington (Avatar) and Colson Baker, better known as rapper Machine Gun Kelly, idol of the Gen Z and future husband of Megan Fox, The Last Son is a visually prodigious film. It’s as brutal and rough as its two main protagonists: tough cowboys, thirsty for blood and with a pending father-son feud.
