Parc de la Ciutadella Passeig de Picasso, Barcelona
Tastings, cooking shows, workshops, talks, prizes, concerts... The fourth edition of the festival invites you to enjoy music, food and drink in a conscientious way, with quality offerings that contribute to caring for the planet with sustainable practice. This year's special focus is on the issues of food waste, sustainable fishing and water conservation.
In the restaurant area you will find a wide range of dishes and drinks made with organic and seasonal products. Plates start at €5 and drinks €2.50. You'll also discover a sample of local producers offering tastings of organic cheeses, oils and meats.
Restaurants in this year’s edition include: Assalto Bar de Vins, Bacaro, Bistrot Levante, Casa Xica, El Celler del Nou Priorat, Espai Puntal, Fella, Green Leka Valldaura, Happy Foods, La Sosenga, Llamber, Mescladís, Zaza and Diamond from Sant Boi. The drinks area features the collaboration of Barcelona Beer Festival (BBF) and natural wine, with L’Olivera, Rabassaires, Terrabuxena and Clot de Soleres. Delacrem will be on site with seasonal artisan ice cream and you can finish off your meal with a specialty coffee from The Milk & Coffee.
The Terra i Gust stage includes varied musical proposals for every moment of the day. Concerts that will accompany the midday vermouth, more live music to have a good time in the afternoons and more powerful rhythms that will make you dance in the evenings.
It's a whole experience for the senses!
What to Do for La Mercè
Celebrated in the days surrounding September 24th, the La Mercè festival program is packed with things to do and see. From parades and exhibits filled with gegants (giants), capgrossos (bigheads) and fire-breathing beasts to giant castells (human towers), traditional dances, correfocs (fire runs), drone light shows, fireworks displays and free concerts, you're sure to find something to delight and amaze you.
But if all the festivities of La Mercè get to be a bit too much, why not take a culture break? Many of the city’s museums observe the holiday with a jornada de portes obertes (open doors). To make the most of your time, take a look at our interactive map with all the locations that are throwing open their doors for free: Map of Barcelona Museums with Free Entry for La Mercè.
See our Guide to La Mercè for a list of the festival's events and discover the story behind one of the biggest celebrations on Barcelona's calendar and the many traditions that make this beloved Catalan holiday so special.
