Santa Tecla is known as the "small” festa major or major festival due to its local character — in September many tourists are already back home, and schools have already started — and for having children as the main protagonists, with their morning shows, their dance exhibitions and the parades of giants and dragons made and carried by kids.

The main events of Santa Tecla take place on September 22nd and 23rd, with the processions of popular dances and the fireworks. Various acts related to Santa Tecla are also carried out the previous days, such as family workshops, concerts and the more. The Santa Tecla fireworks are always on September 22nd at 23:00 in the city.
