In Tarragona, Santa Tecla is known as the "festival of festivals." It's the city's largest festival and one of its oldest—with a history that dates back to 1321!

Celebrations absolutely fill the streets for two weeks in the second half of September. The program is packed with over 400 events, including an impressive Seguici Popular which features gegants (giants), many dancing dracs and bèsties (dragons and beasts), the ball de diables (dancing devils) pyrotechnics and a long list of traditional dances. Catalunya's famous castells (human castles) also feature prominently in the agenda as well live music, DJs, children's activities, communal meals highlighting traditional dishes, a street market with local products and gastronomic tastings, fireworks displays, barbecues and so much more!
