It's just as important to know which road you want to travel as it is to find your travel companions. For his first professional steps, trumpet player Òscar Latorre has chosen to collaborate with some of the most renowned jazz musicians in the world.
He was selected as one of the members of a nine-piece ensemble for Focusyear, a program at the Basel Academy of Music, where he had the opportunity to work alongside legendary artists such as Kurt Rosenwinkel and Jorge Rossy. This experience was the starting point for his debut album, A Pathway to Become, which he recorded with two of his fellow ensemble members, vibraphonist Jean-Lou Treboux and double bass player Sebastián de Urquiza. They are joined by the ever-evolving musician Jordi Pallarés to create a unique and intimate aesthetic path.
The album will be presented at Sala 2 Oriol Martorel at L’Auditori, and entrance is free without prior reservation.
