One Man Dies a Million Times, Jessica Oreck (USA, 2019)
This apocalyptic dystopia is inspired by the true story of the N. I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources during the Siege of Leningrad, where scientists conserved a massive inventory of edible seeds in the name of biodiversity while facing starvation.
This sci-fi drama directed by Jessica Oreck premiered at SXSW in 2019. Oreck decided that it would only be seen in theaters and not on platforms to honor the risks that the film’s protagonists took in real life.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Catalan.
A film in the 2024 edition the Americana Film Festival.
