It’s time once again for Memefest, the cultural event that takes a light-hearted and cathartic look at humor on social media.
The fifth edition will consider what truths we can cling to in the current age of the metaverses, deep fakes, astrology, flat-earthers and conspiracy theories. We will ask ourselves what is real on Social Media, saturated with junk memes (shitposting) and of bodies altered by screens and filters. We will also pay tribute to early digital folklore and the references that made us laugh and be happy: initiation memes, Tumblrs, chats and YouTube videos.
This event will be held in Spanish and Catalan.
