Montblanc has made the Legend of Sant Jordi its own and for more than 35 years has represented it in a great outdoor show of music, fire and projections on the ancient city wall. The representation of the Legend of Sant Jordi is the most emblematic event of the Medieval Week, which is celebrated every year around the day of Saint George, on April 23rd. The outdoor show hosts up to 1,500 people, and over 200 non-professional actors and actresses participate in recreating the Legend of Sant Jordi alongside, parades, jousting matches, dueling knights, traveling minstrels, games and more.
Make sure to visit the medieval market, where over a hundred stalls in the squares of the old Gothic quarter feature exclusively artisanal Catalan products including local wines, cheeses, embotits (cold cuts), bread, pastries, liquors, honey and herbs.
