Born in New Jersey in 1980, composer, educator, producer and founder of the independent record label Beat Music Productions, Mark Guiliana is one of the most renowned drummers to emerge from the global jazz scene. He has played for great artists such as David Bowie, Brad Mehldau, Avishai Cohen, or Matisyahu.
He fronts his own project at La Nau in Barcelona, with bassist Chris Morrissey, pianist Shai Maestro and saxophonist Jason Rigby. It has been said that his music sounds like mixing Elvin Jones and Art Blakey with an 808 drum machine and then dividing it by J. Dilla and multiplying it by Squarepusher.
