Born in southern Athens in the State of Georgia, Madeleine Peyroux grew up listening to New Orleans jazz and made a living as a teenager in the Latin quarter of Paris. Since then her career in jazz has thrived, emulating the precepts of Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Patsy Cline or Édith Piaf. The American singer, guitarist and composer deploys her story with the integrity of the classics, and has a brilliant discography, which combines originals and covers, and which she will perform this year.
