Los de Abajo, Alejandro Quiroga (Bolivia, 2022)

Gregorio is a rustic, idealistic peasant living in the Rosillas village. Proud, determined and bold, he sets out to recover the waters of the family's old dam, which were diverted by Colonel Igrejas, a power-hungry Argentinean farmer who acts in collusion with the town's mayor to benefit both of them.

In the midst of all this, Gregorio will have to face the contempt of the local residents, the corruption and the socioeconomic power of the elite. In spite of these challenges, he has to prioritize the love for his little son Olegário, the responsibility of caring for his elderly parents, and his love for Paula, the school teacher who insists that he give up his rural life for a life with her in the city.

Film will be screened in its original version, in Spanish.
