The four albums that the Scottish pop band Chvrches have released in a decade, are defined by many things, but above all they are defined by the unmistakable voice of Lauren Mayberry. An amplifier of universal emotions, the euphoria has been more euphoric and the disappointments have been felt more deeply whenever Mayberry has sung them. In Chvrches, she co-wrote and co-produced songs with Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, and sang as the lead vocalist.
A vocal feminist and activist, she has made herself heard off stage and in the studio speaking out against an industry hostile to her fellow professionals.
Mayberry has collaborated with artists such as Marshmello, Death Cab For Cutie, Bleachers, The National, the lead singer of Paramore, Hayley Williams and The Cure's frontman, Robert Smith. In 2023 she announced she'd be releasing solo material for the first time followed by US and European/UK tour. And here she is.
