La Carassa de Barcelona (Barcelona’s “Big Face”) plays its main role during the Christmas festivities at the Fira de Santa Llúcia, where it hands out sweets to children. The figure walks between the stalls and tumbles through the squares and streets around the Cathedral, throwing candies to the kids who are waiting for him.
Every day that he goes out, he is supported by a different gang of musicians from the city's Old Town, who makes him dance to the sound the drums.
