This film kicks off the film series curated by Rossy de Palma, Prêt-à… regarder. It is an emotional selection, since it marked the career of the actress and marks her first collaboration with Jean Paul Gautier. “In Kika the experience was brutal. It's not so much that I chose the movie, but the movie chose me."

Kika, a lively and naive make-up artist, lives with Ramón, a photographer obsessed with the death of her mother. They love each other, but they don't understand each other. Also, Kika has a friend with very few prejudices, Amparo; a staunch enemy, Andrea "scarface," director and host of a reality show; an American lover who is Ramón's stepfather, and finally, a lesbian maid and sister of a porn actor who, after escaping from prison, takes refuge in her house.
