French musician Kazy Lambist presents his second album, Moda, through which the Mediterranean is woven as a symbolic thread. Its music is welcoming and panoramic, sophisticated and hedonistic, volatile and elegant, preserving the balance between refinement and pleasure.
Lambist persistently navigates the realm of his sounds without friction and conflict, with music that is at once welcoming and panoramic, sophisticated and hedonistic, volatile and elegant, relaxed yet full of character. While others resort to their electronic arsenal by more aggressive means, Lambist, inspired by sensuality and emotions, refuses to limit himself to restrictive musical niches. It’s no surprise from an artist who has striven to push boundaries since his early days, seeking to offer a broad vision to his audience, inviting listeners to daydream in his hammock, dance in a cozy lounge or on a hypnotic sun-drenched dance floor. His first viral hit, “Doing Yoga,” earned him the Inrocks Lab New Talent Audience Award in 2015, the enthusiastic endorsement of film director Guillermo del Toro and also led to a collaboration with fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Three years later, with the album 33,000 Ft (2018) he became a star artist on the electro-pop scene.
Now Lambist is ready to release the second chapter, Moda, an LP almost six years in the making that should not be mistaken for the result of a quiet artistic inertia. Because this Frenchman has meanwhile delighted us with the joyful EP Sky Kiss (2020), with a compelling collaboration with Jean-Benoît Dunckel (Air), who gave a new and more classic life to some of his early hits on the EP Decrescendo (2021) and with some more exploratory ventures, such as for example the single “Nasty” (2022) with the Italian rapper Tutti Fenomeni.
