Kamasi Washington returns, and he does it with great enthusiasm. They say that with Fearless Movement, his long-awaited new record after a period of silence, Washington has created a dance album that is not an electronic album. Ultimately, he wants his music to be an invocation to dance, to move without fear and without prejudice, freed from everything. His music, without a doubt, has that air of utopia, of struggle for a weightless spirit, of childlike innocence, highlighted in this case by the composition, "Asha the First," with a melody that the saxophonist attributes to his daughter, born in 2020. Kamasi Washington returns, the first concert of the Voll-Damm Jazz Festival in the fall.
