Kaïro Band is a musical formation made up of seven musicians from the African, Colombian and French diaspora. An enriching and creative combination whose staging is thrilling and fills us with good vibes. Traditional African handcrafted instruments such as the kora, djembe, balafon and calabash fuse with guitar, bass and drums to create exquisite melodies. Through music and performing arts we transmit messages kaïro which translated from the Mandinka language means peace & love and we present representative elements of the culture and tradition of the Casamance (southern region of Senegal).
The band is led by the artist, singer and composer "Black in White" from the same region and promoter of the Diola culture whose motto is: "I make music by the people, not for the people." The traditional rhythms of Casamance, Afro-folklore, Afro-beat, reggae and Latin touches give an innovative color and generate lively & exciting melodies that awaken all senses and transcend movement.
