North American Julian Lage is a master of the guitar. He stood out as a child prodigy when he was only eight years old and studied at Stanford University, Sonoma University and Berklee College.
But it would be of little use to him if he had not coordinated perfectly with drummer Dave King and bassist Jorge Roeder on records such as Squint (2021), his Blue Note debut, now continued with the recent View With A Room (2022), which also includes the guitarist Brill Frisell.
Grammy nominations for best instrumental album and collaborations with Scott Colley, Kenny Wollesen, Chris Eldridge, John Zorn and Nels Cline mark the career of this New Jersey musician, a master of the strings but also a master of instrumental composition and its different textures.
