Acclaimed classical pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko will perform at Sala 2: Oriol Martorell at L’Auditori in Barcelona.

Izik-Dzurko, winner of the 67^th Maria Canals Competition, proposes a program in two parts. The first comprises two works that convey the light and color of the Mediterranean coast: Alborada del Gracioso by Maurice Ravel and SomnisRadiants by Elisenda Fábregas. The first, by the father of Baroque music, was originally written for organ and transcribed for piano by Liszt. The second, written by Mendelssohn at the bedside of a dying friend, starts out in a sombre mood but ends more softly, as if he found comfort in the idea of reencountering his friend in heaven.
