It Was All a Dream, Dream Hampton (USA, 2024)

A precious, raw, unfiltered time capsule from 1993-1995, when hip hop stormed the mainstream. Notorious B.I.G. records Ready to Die, the East Coast’s answer to Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, which in turn fathered Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle; Cypress Hill listens to Enter the Wu-Tang the same week as A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders is released; Lil’ Kim and Nicki D conspire together… And it’s all captured on the camcorder of a fan and journalist who, whether in the studio or on the street, speaks on a first-name basis (and challenges their misogyny) to the top rappers of her generation, young kamikazes with mafia fantasies in a cannibalistic industry.

Film will be screened in English with Spanish Subtitles.
