Accompanied only by himself, Israel Galván explores in Solo the possibilities of dancing naked. In this spectacle, Galván shares his intensely personal reflection on flamenco dance without music and with no adornment, in which the only instrument is the bailaor with his body and the ground on which he treads. The show won for Galván the City of Barcelona Dance Prize. Flamenco without music, naked, completely alone.
Acclaimed in the principal venues of Europe, the dancer and choreographer Israel Galván, National Dance Prize-winner, is one of flamenco's most innovative artists. He reinvents the genre. He has broken all the molds for the art form. Following in the steps of his admired Vicente Escudero, who danced without music a century ago, the stage at the Mirador del Castell is being prepared to receive an artist who will expose himself without artifice and will show what he is. With no musical accompaniment, with just a soundtrack created from the depths of his own body. For the first time at the Festival, this dancer of intricate zapateados will bring his avant-garde, reinvigorated classical flamenco.
