Thanks to his rhythmic, versatile, unlimited jazz, Franco-Lebanese musician Ibrahim Maalouf has been selling out international venues for years, including the Accor Arena in Paris, the Lincoln Jazz Center in New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
Since Quincy Jones discovered him and the New York Times called him a “virtuoso,” Ibrahim Maalouf has recorded 16 albums; has worked with Sting, Salif Keita, Amadou et Mariam, Wynton Marsalis, Melody Gardot and Vanessa Paradis; has won prestigious awards, including the César for best original music for the film In the Forests of Siberia (2017); and has been nominated for the Grammy for best global music album for Queen of Sheba (2022).
Jazz, Asian music and rock (in any of its forms) come together with total ease in his music. The lavish Capacity To Love (2022), a message for tolerance, respect and integration between cultures, with collaborations from Gregory Porter, Posdnuos (De La Soul), Tony Romera and JP Cooper, now gives way to his new album, Trumpets of Michel Ange (2024), in which he mixes Asian sounds, jazz and Latin American music.
