Torn Curtain, Alfred Hitchcock (USA, 1966)

This Cold War-era thriller stars Paul Newman and Julie Andrews, and is one of Hitchcock’s classic films. 

Newman plays an American scientist who defects to East Germany, but his motives are suspect. As he and his fiancée (Andrews) navigate a world of espionage and danger, Hitchcock masterfully builds suspense. The film delves into the moral ambiguities and personal sacrifices of spying, featuring intense sequences and a memorable score by John Addison.
