Film Cycle in Park Güell
to
Park Güell Carrer d'Olot, 08024 Barcelona
This year's film cycle at Park Güell is dedicated to the Barcelona film director, screenwriter and producer Ventura Pons, who died at the beginning of January this year.
June 28: Ocaña. Retrat intermitent (1978)
The film portrays the life of the transvestite artist José Pérez Ocaña. At the time homosexuality and transvestism were illegal, which left members of the LGBTIQ+ community both at risk of social ostracization and presented a persistent risk of physical harm. The film portrays the emergence of struggles for LGBTIQ+ rights in Barcelona, a city still marked by the dictatorship.
July 5: El perquè de tot plegat (The Why of It All) (1995)
A set of stories based on a series by the writer Quim Monzó, a minimalist frieze that deals with human behavior in 15 different vignettes.
July 12: Barcelona (un mapa) (2007)
If there is anything typically Barcelona, it is the apartments in the Eixample. They are all the same, but at the same time different. Behind each door are hidden a thousand different lives and stories and Ventura Pons tells us some of them.
Entrance is free, but seats are limited and must be reserved in advance.
