The Embarrats Fair celebrates the textile industry in Sant Joan de Vilatorrada and the Cardener River at the turn of the 20th century.

Embarrats are old mechanical drive shafts that were commonly used in pre-industrial textile factories, a backbone of the history of Sant Joan de Vilatorrada. Now long gone, the fair revives and celebrates the history of the town's textile history and its connection to the Cardener River. The festival begins with dramatized guided tours of the old factory, reviving the old spirit of the town, followed by a variety of musical events, workshops and much more. A highlight is Sunday's street fair, with a heavy emphasis on the delicious cuisine made up of locally sourced ingredients. A family friendly event, make sure to take advantage of the revival of these historic landmarks and delicious cuisine.
