The musical ensemble, El Gran Teatro del Mundo, performs a program of traditional music from the 17th century at L'Auditori in Barcelona.
The program brings together composers, sensibilities and musical criteria that have much more in common than might be suggested by the differences in the rhythms and arrangements.
Program
Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer: Suite No. 1 in C major ‘Le journal du printemps’ (1695)
Gaspar Sanz: Instrucción de música sobre la guitarra española (1674)
Georg Muffat: Sonata No. 2 in G minor (1682)
Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767): Ouverture-Suite TWV 55:Es4
These arrangements for chamber ensemble we’re written by Julio Caballero, based on the historical practice of partitions réduites.
