One of the first black supermodels to appear in Vogue and in films by Fellini and Preminger, her career was as brief—she died at 33—as it was spectacular.

Growing up in 1950s Detroit with such a striking appearance must not have been easy for little Peggy Anne Freeman. So, she left behind the label of ‘odd one out’, polished her uniqueness, moved to New York — later to London and Paris — and made her mark in fashion (she was one of the first black supermodels), art (worked with Warhol), and cinema, where she acted for Federico Fellini, Otto Preminger, and William Klein. Luna’s life is recounted through valuable archival footage and interviews that recall those unforgettable years for fashion and the avant-garde.
