Dissidente, Pier-Philippe Chevigny (Canada, 2023)

After a bad breakup, Ariane moves home to the Richelieu Valley, an agricultural region of Quebec, and looks for a job as she tries to pull her life back together. She is hired as a French-Spanish translator in a factory where Guatemalan migrants work and quickly realizes their deplorable working conditions. Faced with the exploitation they are subjected to on a daily basis, she must decide how far she's willing to go to speak out against injustice.

Film will be screened in original version with Spanish subtitles.

A film in the 2024 edition of the Ohlalà! French Film Festival.
