Cyrus Chestnut, a musician with strong roots in gospel, soul and hard bop, plays the piano as if it were the most natural thing in the world, in an organic way, with no apparent effort thanks to a prodigious technique that has also made him an academic reference. Chestnut has played with Jon Hendricks, Terence Blanchard, Betty Carter and Wynton Marsalis and also appeared in the film Kansas City, by Robert Altman, in which he plays a pianist inspired by Count Basie.
