Palau de la Música Catalana Carrer Palau de la Música 4-6, 08003 Barcelona
Carlos Núñez returns for the traditional New Year's Eve Party of Banco Mediolanum Festival Mil·lenni in the Palau. It has been over 25 years since his first album, the now classic Irmandade das Estrelas, but the international Galician piper continues to offer new collaborations with artists of all genres, from opera to early music, from flamenco to trap.
Núñez (Vigo, 1971) is an exceptional instrumentalist who has sold more than one million records with Sony and was the first to introduce his instrument, the bagpipe, in international temples of music such as the Musikverein in Vienna, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Boston Symphony Hall, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
His mentors, the legendary Irishmen, The Chieftains, conveyed to him their idea of Celtic music as open and deep, and since then he has collaborated with such varied and emblematic artists as Joan Manuel Serrat, Luz Casal, the North American guitarist Ry Cooder and many more.
