The elegance and cinematic power of Butcher Brown has earned them a privileged place in the international jazz funk scene.
They themselves say, quite rightly, that they can tour with Tyler, the Creator as well as with Khruangbin, and they have always shown their admiration for D'Angelo, Spyro Gyra, Robert Glasper, Miles Davis, The Weather Report and The Roots. Marcus Tenney on trumpet and sax, Morgan Burns on guitar, Corey Fonville on percussion, Andew Randazzo on bass and DJ Harrison on keyboard make up this Richmond, Virginia formation, well experienced on stage and endowed with a discography that includes nine albums since their debut in 2013. Their latest work is the very appropriately titled Solar Music (2023).
