The International Animation Film Festival of Catalunya was established in 1996 as a noncompetitive meeting point for animation artists and professionals who create movie animation and for the interested public. 

Audiences of all ages are set to enjoy a program with experimental and narrative productions. Animac considers the perspective of the younger generation, catering extensively for children including some areas where children can enjoy workshops while they discover the secrets of animation. In other spaces, professionals from different sectors and students from a variety of disciplines meet to present projects still in development and discuss the current condition of animation.
