For singer and trumpeter Andrea Motis, February is a month linked to her personal relationship with Chile, a country she has been visiting for years with her family. "There, February is - says the artist - a symbol of joy, Carnival, friendship, flowers, sun, light, heat, because in Chile, of course, then it is summer, the opposite of Europe." That is why her new project is titled February which she recorded last year, directed by the Argentine- Chilean guitarist Federico Danneman. In the repertoire, Latin American classics such as "Perfidia," "Noche de Ronda," "Garota de Ipanema," versions of Inti-Illimani and two jazz standards take on new life. The album also includes Dannemann's arrangements of "The Man I love" and "Someone To Watch Over Me."
