After twenty-seven novels, Amélie Nothomb has created her own literary universe based around short books. (She writes four of them each year and only publishes one.) They are stories that both explore aspects of her autobiography — her childhood in Japan, and the resulting culture shock — as well as take us on a journey with her provocative plots. In this year's novel, Sed (Anagrama, 2022), Nothomb offers us her personal view of the most venerated and controversial character in Western history: Jesus of Nazareth.
At the CCCB, Amélie Nothomb will talk with writer Sergi Pàmies, who has translated all of her books into Spanish about her graphomania (she writes for at least four hours a day), about the origin of her stories, which have made her one of the greatest authors of modern French literature.
This event will be held in Catalan and French, with simultaneous translation from French to Catalan.
