Poble-sec stars in the launch of the Other Possible Stages project, a traveling photographic exhibition that will tour the ten districts of Barcelona, showcasing the richness and diversity of the local music circuits that coexist in the Catalan capital.
This first exhibition, located at the Albareda Civic Center, will open on Thursday, January 20th. For one month, you will be able to view photographs of concerts that have been held in various non-traditional spaces around the city since the start of the pandemic: wineries, squares, churches, parks, pottery workshops, boats, bookshops, civic centers, occupied spaces, bars, private homes, and more. The photographic selection at the CC Albareda will place special emphasis on venues and musical initiatives in Poble-sec.
The inauguration on the 20th (Albareda Cultural Center, at 7pm in the Sala d’Actes) will include a talk by renowned music journalist Nando Cruz, promoter of the project and author of the series of articles with the same title published in El Periódico de Catalunya, which were the springboard for this traveling exhibition. On Friday, February 18th — before the show moves on to the next district — there will be a guided walk through Poble-sec to get to know spaces that tell us, through music, what the neighborhood is like.
The aim of the Other Possible Stages project is to make the local music circuits visible and demonstrate their number of small venues and culturally enriching initiatives that take place around the city. It invites the neighborhood not only to enjoy them, but also to play an active role in the musical life of their neighborhood.
