Pianist Alejandro Esperanza, who performed last year at the Voll-Damm Jazz Festival in the homage dedicated to Tete Montoliu, now returns to the head of his trio (Manel Forti, on the bass and Marcelo Woloski on the drums) to present his last album, Olivos. A recording that, he explains himself, represents a symbol of the Mediterranean and the concept of home. His compositions, he says, are a reflection of those most basic things and also more beautiful with which anyone can feel identified: they are pieces such as "Olive," deep, lasting and strong rooting on earth and "Josefina," the mother, breath, marveling at the mere fact of existing.
