On the occasion of the Catalan publication of his book A l’ombra d’Amazon. Una història del nostre futur (Fulfillment: Winning and Losing in One-Click America), the writer and investigative journalist Alec MacGillis speaks with the journalist Jordi Pérez Colomé about the social and human impact of big corporations like Amazon.
Jurnalist Alec MacGillis spent ten years traveling the United States investigating the influence of Amazon in American society and politics. His research paves the way for thinking about the human and social consequences of a new digital economy that is already having a huge impact on lives and cities today. How does the global economy work in the so-called click era? What future awaits us if the expansion of this new model is not curbed?
Alex MacGillis, is also a contributor to other media outlets such as The New Yorker and The New York Times, and will speak on the publication of his book In the Shadow of Amazon.
