Under the motto "in Barcelona, you are not alone," the city marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with a focus on stopping the violence perpetrated against women over and over again in public spaces

Looks, catcalls, vulgar remarks and gestures, threats, comments on people’s appearance, invading physical or personal space, groping on crowded public transport and assault in night-life spaces, are just some examples of violent acts perpetuated against women in public spaces. On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Barcelona stands strong against these and all forms of gender violence.
